How many thoroughbreds born into racing are ruined/slaughtered per year?

Hello! After watching the Kentucky Derby, I thought about how I had once heard that almost 3/4 of all Thoroughbreds born into racing are slaughtered or ruined (Wind Broken, leg injuries, breathing problems, etc). Also including the ones that are sold out to non-racing places. Thanks!
